Gone Fishin'

Today Dad and Mike ventured out to catch our dinner with Captain Randy from Journeys of SGI. Being November, our expectations were low and we knew there was a good chance the day would end without a catch.

Luckily, the fishing trip was a success and the boys brought home 10 beautiful trout. In total they caught 40-50 fish, but with a 5 trout per person maximum, they had to release most of what they caught. Journeys was a great tour company and set up a trip that did not disappoint. Mike and Dad had an extra treat when a bald eagle was spotted flying over head.

Mom and I met up with the boys just in time to watch Randy clean the fish. We all enjoyed the show the pelicans put on as they competed for the leftovers Randy threw into the bay after cleaning the fish. We thanked Randy for a great day and headed back to Aqua Vista to prepare our dinner of fresh fish.

Dad pan fried the fish as Mom helped cooking the rest. Corn on the cob, homemade cornbread, cole slaw, baked beans, creamed spinach, red potatoes and our fresh catch of the day. It was a meal we will not forget.
